Columbia, South Carolina: The R.L. Bryan Co., Circa 1917. Tall octavo, 10.75 x 5.75", brown wrappers with illustration of rabbit cooking stew, 92, [10] pp, with index and local advertisements at end. A scarce South Carolina community cookbook, and an attractive production. Begins with instructions for setting the table and for serving wines. Next are the recipes, each attributed, including Low Country Brown Soup and Charleston Hopping John. There are also several recipes for alcoholic drinks such as claret punch, egg nog, and champagne punch. OCLC only shows entries for a 1971 reprint. Three hole punches along spine, which may have once held a ribbon, tearing, creasing, ring stain, and chipping to wrappers, manuscript poem to front endpaper (dated 1917), mild spattering to pages.
