Palmer, Massachusetts: Tampax Incorporated, 1952. A collection of ten booklets and ephemeral items, together with original mailing envelope, sent in 1952 by Tampax Inc to Miss Virginia Green, a registered nurse in Lincoln, Nebraska. The collection consists of educational material and studies touting the benefits of tampons, commissioned by the company from various professionals and scientists, perhaps sent to the nurse in an effort to get her to recommend the product to her patients. Includes a 16 page quarto booklet, "How Times Have Changed A Manual of Menstruation Its Purpose, Function, Care"; six flyers or booklets printing studies on the benefits of tampons; an illustrated flyer explaining "the anatomical principle of tampax"; a trifold brochure titled "Questions and Answers about Tampax"; and a leaflet with instructions on how to use tampons.
