San Francisco: Chinese Chamber of Commerce, 1961. Octavo, 9.75 x 6.25", lettering in English and Chinese to rear cover, pictorial front cover, 108 pp, photographic illustrations. A well illustrated souvenir book for San Francisco's Chinatown issued by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. The editor, H.K. Wong, was a well known Chinese-American business and community leader nicknamed "Mr. Chinatown." He has inscribed this copy on the front wrapper verso "to Eva of the Staff!", i.e. Eva Lee, who wrote an article on tea that appears on page 42. The book contains numerous articles on Chinatown and Chinese culture, including on topics such as Chinese fashion, fortune cookies, Chinatown restaurants, and "Chinese Influences on the Western Home." There are also many advertisements for Chinese businesses, as well as photo illustrations of Chinatown and Chinese-American life. 13 in OCLC.
