A program promoting Douglas "Jocko" Henderson (1918 to 2000), an African American radio DJ, businessman, and hip hop music pioneer. The program dates from the 1950s, when Jocko hosted a radio program titled "Jocko's Rocket Ship Show," on WOV in New York, which was an outlet for early rock 'n roll music. This well illustrated program contains images of African American musicians, and a photographic spread showcasing a "Day in the Life of Jocko." It also features a "Rock 'N Roll Dictionary", with terms like "groovy" and "square." Not in OCLC. In very good condition with small chip to upper corner, foxing to covers. Item #12956
