Collection of Ephemera From a 1922 Trip to the Dedication of the Headquarters of the National Woman's Party

[Washington DC]: 1922. A collection of ephemera collected by Olive Elizabeth Pearman during a trip she took with her daughter in 1922 to the dedication of the headquarters of the National Woman's Party in Washington D.C. The party was founded in 1916 to advocate for suffrage, and after the passage of the 19th amendment, focused on other issues like the Equal Rights Amendment. In 1922, the party dedicated its fourth headquarters, located across from the Capitol Building. This collection includes six ephemeral items related to the dedication ceremony: an eight page illustrated booklet about the new headquarters, a mimeographed sheet with manuscript annotations outlining the order of exercises for the ceremony, printed programs and invitations for the ceremony, and two blank letterheads of the party. Together with eight additional ephemeral items dating from the trip, including tickets to the House and Senate chambers, a Baltimore restaurant menu, travel agency brochures, etc. Soiling to some items, old paper residue to versos of many items indicating likely removal from scrapbook.
