Newark, New York: Circa 1890s. 12mo, 5.5 x 4.25", stapled booklet, 8 pp. A scarce tract arguing against the use of alcohol as a medicine, written by the Superintendent of the Department of Non-Alcoholic Medication for the National Women's Christian Temperance Union: "Let those who love health more than strong drink abjure the bottle with its deceitful contents; and let those who have an old-fashioned brandy doctor refuse to take his death-dealing drink..." (8). Undated, but was read before an 1896 meeting of the W.C.T.U., according to newspaper records (Bellows Falls Times, April 8, 1896). One in OCLC.
