Philadelphia: Samuel Augustus Mitchell, 1843. Black morocco leather binding with gilt decoration and titles, 7.25 x 4.75" when closed. Contains two color folding maps, each 34 x 24.75 inches when unfolded. On the left is a statistical table titled "A concise view of the number, resources, and industry of the American people in the year 1840", consisting of a statistical table of agricultural, mineral, and economic information surrounded by 32 inset maps of American cities and regions. On the right is "Mitchells' National Map of the American Republic or United States of America", dated 1843. In nice condition with slight toning to maps, hint of staining to versos of maps, slight wear to covers along edges. Item #13472
