This copy belonged to Florida senator and governor Bob Graham, and is signed twice by Gates. Once on the half title "Best Wishes, Bill Gates," and once on the front endpaper "To Bob, Thanks for your Support! Bill Gates." Laid in is a letter on Microsoft letterhead, dated June 9, 1999, from Jack Krumholtz, Director of Federal Government Affairs for Microsoft. The letter, sent to Senator Graham, introduces the book and notes "I hope Bill's thoughts will stimulate your own thinking about the incredible opportunities available to everyone as we work to realize the potential of the information age." Graham and Gates were acquainted through Graham's sister-in-law, Washington Post publisher Katharine Graham, who was a friend of Gates.
