First Edition. 8vo, yellow printed boards with black cloth spine, 68 pp. A collection of moral and religious sketches making use of brief allegories to illustrate morals, social order, and piety. The author was a Universalist minister in Philadelphia, Lowell, Ma, and elsewhere. While in Lowell, he edited the literary magazine "The Lowell Offering." Several owner inscriptions and notations throughout, by Thomas Averell of Topsfield, Massachusetts. Staining and wear to cover, corners chipped, good. Item #14146
