Octavo, stapled, illustrated wrappers, [28] pp, local advertisements, titled to front cover "Boyd County Homemaker's Cook Book." A scarce cookbook by members of the Boyd County Homemaker's Club in Boyd County, Kentucky. Undated, but we found mentions of the sale of this cookbook in local newspapers from 1947 (The Sentinel-News, Shelbyville, KY, 11/6/1947). Recipes are attributed, and include Lois' Favorite Cookie Recipe, and orange egg-nog. The rear wrapper verso prints a letter by the director of the Deparment of Dietetic & Food Research at the Sandy Valley Grocery Company, based in Ashland, Kentucky. An additional leaf is laid in with a manuscript recipe for silverfish poison. Microform editions only in OCLC. Staining to wrappers, staining/spattering to pages, two leaves detached, good.
