[Owensboro, Kentucky]: Circa 1940s. Quarto, stapled tan illustrated wrappers, 53 pp, illustrated. A cookbook and party planning manual by Arcacia Chapter No. 46, Order of the Eastern Star, Owensboro, Kentucky. Pages 2-6 print a roster of the chapter and a group portrait. Pages 7-45 are a stock, publisher issued party planning manual that appears to have been used by various Eastern Star Chapters around the country as part of their cookbooks in the 1940s. This section is interleaved with numerous pages of local ads for Owensboro businesses. Pages 46-53 print recipes, including 26 recipes that are each attributed to Owensoboro women. Finally, a mimeographed flyer for an "Bakeless Bale Sale" held in Owensoboro is laid in. Not in OCLC. Very good with mild toning to wrappers and a bit of creasing to pages. Item #14448
